Maximize your gift by finding out if your company is one of thousands that match employee contributions. Corporate matching gifts enable your donation to be instantly doubled or even tripled. A matching gift can be any negotiable gift such as cash, stocks or bonds that are matched by your company or employer. The Salvation Army will benefit from your gift and your employer’s gift, and you’ll get the benefit of a tax deduction for the value of your donation.
Please check with your HR department to fill out the appropriate paperwork and ensure your gift is matched. Many companies also match volunteer hours or gifts from spouses, retirees, and board members! This means your employer could provide financial support to The Salvation Army programs you care about and volunteer your time with. Please contact your HR department and find out if your volunteer hours can be matched.
How To Make a Matching Gift Request
- Contact your human resources office and ask if your company matches employee donations
- Request your company’s matching gift form and review the program guidelines to see if The Salvation Army is eligible
- Send in the completed and signed form with you donation to:
The Salvation Army
501 East Eighth Street
P.O. Box 1000
Austin, TX 78767
Your generous donation helps provide emergency relief, food, health care, education, homeless services to those living on the fringes of society. Your employer’s matching gift will allow The Salvation Army to increase their services and reach even more families and individuals in distress.
If your company does not currently match employee donations, ask it to do so. Together, you and your employer can send a message of hope to your neighbors and people around the globe.
