Veterans
Currently, veterans make up one-third of our nation’s homeless population – a number expected to grow in the coming years as a younger generation of veterans return from active combat zones. Because of their exposure to war and violence for extended periods of time, there are many hardships that these brave men and women must overcome before they can reintegrate into society.
The Salvation Army is committed to providing services for veterans, especially in the areas of housing and supportive services. We operate programs in Central Texas that address many of the major issues faced by veterans today.
