It has been said that The Salvation Army offers caring support for every problem “from the cradle to the grave.” The Social Service Center coordinates and provides services as wide-ranging and diverse as the areas of need throughout the local community.

There is a tremendous scope in service provision and each program is able to link with other services in the network, thus enhancing the Army’s capacity to help those coming out of homelessness.

The Salvation Army is based on the love of God and addresses the concerns of the Central Texas community to help those in the homeless population. Guided by the belief that people in need of financial assistance, food, housing or other emergency assistance will receive:

Living facilities that are safe, comfortable and suitable.

Program services designed to meet their needs.

Professional services without discrimination regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation and be treated with respect and dignity as an individual.

A listening ear, particularly when decisions affecting livelihood are a concern

Education with tools to reach fullest potential.

Opportunity for religious instruction

Protection from physical abuse, inhumane treatment, exploitation and all forms of sexual abuse.
